2011 - RWIGF Founding
Rwanda Internet Governance Forum was established with support from RICTA as a dedicated platform for multi-stakeholder dialogue on internet governance issues in Rwanda.
2022 - Initial Stakeholder Engagement
Early consultations and stakeholder mapping conducted with government agencies, private sector, civil society, and academic institutions.
2023 - First RWIGF Summit
Inaugural RWIGF Summit brought together diverse stakeholders to discuss internet governance priorities and establish working groups.
2023 - Working Groups Established
Formation of technical working groups focused on cybersecurity, digital rights, infrastructure, policy, and digital economy.
2024 - Global IGF Integration
RWIGF deepened integration with global Internet Governance Forum, facilitating Rwanda's participation in international discussions.
2024 - Policy Influence
RWIGF recommendations contributed to Rwanda's digital governance frameworks and national digital strategy.
2025 - Expansion & Youth Engagement
Launch of Youth IGF and expanded programs to ensure younger voices shape Rwanda's digital future.
